Flamenco guitar master VAL RAMOS will be giving a Master Class at the Connecticut Classical Guitar Society's 2006 Guitar Day at Central Connecticut State University on Saturday, November 18 at 2:30 p.m. The one-hour workshop will cover basic Flamenco strumming techniques including Rumba style and simple Soleares falsetas with strumming. The Hispanic Professional Network (HPN) of Connecticut will present a "Hispanic Excellence in Music" award to The Val Ramos Flamenco Ensemble at its 7th Annual Awards & National Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Bushnell Performing Arts Center in Hartford, Connecticut. We are honored to receive this award and thank HPN for its recognition of our musical work. The HPN was one of the sponsors of our Summer 2005 tour in Spain. |

We are honored to be amongst the select group of winners at the 2006 Just Plain Folks Music Awards! The Awards event was held on November 4, 2006 at the Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana, California. Our song POR MI CAMINO (Por mi camino) won best Latin song, and the track TARIFA (Boricuas Flamencos) was nominated for best solo guitar track. Thanks JPF! |

Warming up the audience with its high-energy, colorful, and sophisticated musical arrangements, the VAL RAMOS FLAMENCO ENSEMBLE performed two shows with Flamenco singer DOMINICO CARO and Flamenco dancer JULISSA at First Night Bridgeport on December 31 at the Golden Hill United Methodist Church! The audience there enjoyed some of the best Flamenco in the Northeast! |

The Val Ramos Flamenco Ensemble with singer Jose de Santos performed at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid on Friday, July 1 as part of the innauguration of the new U.S. Ambassador to Spain. Over 1,500 attended this gala event at the gardens in the residence of the new Ambassador. The ensemble will be leaving Madrid tomorrow Wednesday en route to Salamanca, its next concert appearance of the Spain tour! |

Between June 30 and July 10, 2005, the Val Ramos Flamenco Ensemble (with singer Jose Santos) will be on tour in Spain under the auspices of the United States Embassy (State Department) in Spain. Concert stops will include Madrid (U.S. Embassy in Madrid, July 1), Salamanca (Club El Savor, July 7), and Valencia (Festival de Jazz de Torrevieja 2005). Sponsors of this tour include: the U.S. Embassy in Spain, PIRAM Records, the Hispanic Professional Network, J.S. Amaral Associates LLC, La Fonda Restaurant, and La Paloma Sabanera Coffee Shop and Bookstore. |
